Motion on “Inflation and Job Loss Due Minimum Wage”（2010.11.18）

Mr CHAN Kin-por said that in seeking to offset the cost increases triggered by statutory minimum wage, enterprises would tend to adopt price-raising and manpower streamlining strategies. Expressing concern about the magnitude of inflation and job loss due to the implementation of statutory minimum wage, he asked about the measures to be adopted by the Administration to address the possible inflation and unemployment problems.
