My supplementary question is: How will the Hong Kong Government seize the new opportunities arising from the Chancay Port to strengthen its maritime and aviation transport connections, and enhance the trade of goods and other exchanges with Latin American countries?
SECRETARY FOR COMMERCE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (in Cantonese): I thank the Member for the supplementary question. We are now gathering information about the latest development of the Chancay Port. When attending the APEC meeting earlier, I was briefed by my counterpart on the operation of the Chancay Port. We need to further study the operation of the Chancay Port and how it can coordinate with Hong Kong’s ports and terminals. We will conduct further studies on this matter.
Regarding aviation, due to the number of flights and the distance, there is currently no direct flight between Hong Kong and Peru. We will study future cooperation in the fields of logistics, aviation and maritime transport. After the implementation of the FTA, we will conduct study and coordination on the development of bilateral trade and business ties. We should be able to share relevant information with Members by then. Thank you, President.
